The 3rd and final episode of the Spooktober Series will look at the legend of Maggie’s Bridge, a story that took place in “my neck of the woods,” literally, and it was also local author Kelly Lidji’s home. Lose yourself in this spooky tale which is based on the tragic events of a young girl’s death in a horrific manner.

The legends goes back centuries, with stories being told of a dangerous of a dangerous creature that stalked the woods, but the most famous account comes from 1980 when 4 young people encountered this unknown being, giving us a written record and the lack of results from an investigation by local authorities.

This episode will cover the tragic death of Wilmington Police Officer Charles W Schultz in 1891. The case from the beginning had very few clues and absolutely no evidence to arrest, much less convict, someone of the crime, which was being called and assassination throughout the city and in newspapers. Officer Schultz was well loved and respected, considered fair but firm, and worked another job to provide for his family. This episode hopes to bring honor to his memory is not forgotten.
